So, this other day, I had gone for a morning walk along with my parents. We go to the ghats by the River Hooghly which is a two minute drive from home. After we were done with our walk, while walking back towards the car, I saw a little girl. She was looking inside our car through the window. Her mother was sitting on the opposite foot path. As soon as her mother saw the three of us approaching, she called out her daughter's name, and that little girl ran away. As we sat in the car, I saw her eyes sparkling with joy, which made me wonder. I went back home and thought about what I'd experienced and I realized that, the little girl found immense happiness in a simple thing as looking at what was inside a car, and we? We keep ranting about wanting a new branded bag, another pair of heels or a few more expensive gadgets. Our formula for happiness is so shallow that I'm almost ashamed of myself. Incidents like such happen everyday, it's upon you how you react to things you see. So, I'm determined to go on a quest, a quest to find where my real happiness lies. My motive is going to be to look for happiness, true happiness. And, when I do so, I will be satisfied. Until then, it's a journey. A journey, which isn't very easy, but one I'm willing to go for, and give up all I have to for.
I think happiness is all around. You can get happiness in every small thing and a big achievement might not give you that happiness. Happiness is nothing to be seeked for it is to be felt.
ReplyDeleteAt this point of time in my life, HAPPINESS for me is seeing my parents happy ! Do that. Maybe you'll never have to search for happiness.
ReplyDeleteHappiness is a condition. Not a destination. It is in the things you do, and the people you do them for. It is in being grateful for the world around, even though it is not up to your expectations always. :)
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful. I'm waiting for more. Keep it up! <3
